Idea For Tasks Function

I wrote about this before but it's since been lost in the ether so here it is...

I'd like to see a tasks function in Y'z Dock but not how it is in mobydock or objectdock. I'd like it to be more like the OSX dock.

The task area and the shortcut area would be integrated. The arrows which already are in indicate whether the program is a task. If the program is there as a shortcut it would just temporarily act as a task or launch another instance when you double click on it. IF it's not there as a shortcut it would temporarily be added amongst the shortcuts as a temporary task which launches another instance of the program if you double click on it and removes it'self unless you add it as a permanent shortcut.

For multiple instances we could have a menu that lists all instances of a program if there is more than one or just focuses the program if it's just one.

This would cut down on the clutter that other docks that have task areas have and make it a bit more like the OSX dock.

Objectdock does that, except there is no menu if it is already running. It just a sertting.

I Believe that Mr. Y is not ready to make a task function on the exact reason of which Smoke just stated! Mr. Y himself probably sees that putting a simple "Taskbar Function" will only clutter things up. Im betting that if we all just wait, it will probably be implemented just like how Smoke just said if not better! As they say, "Big thing a-commin!"

Objectdock doesn't do that, only the arrow part. The task area is seperate on objectdock. I explained that. You have to see my idea as a whole rather than just one little part because I know the current docks do have some of that stuff. I'd just like to see it taken all the way.

The menu would only pop up if there is more than one so instead of having 2-X amount of icons on either side of the seperator you'd only have one amongst the shortcuts that brings up a instances menu. Otherwise that icon would bring the task to focus.

That is what I meant OD does... Brings it to focus if already running.

Yeah I know but again that's only a small part of the feature. When I say it doesn't do that I mean the whole enchilada. Try out a "real" mac and you'll see my idea in action.
