[Request] Pop Mail Notifier Desklet

I would simply love a Pop Mail Notifier Desklet.

I know there are docklets available. However, I have downloaded and tried every one of them I could find, and while they might work, they are designed for docks, rather than AveDesk.

It may seem like a small thing, but the problem is that the docklets that are available do not allow you to modify the icon that shows up in AveDesk. I know you can "set image" in the desklet properties, but the docklet just switches it right back to whatever its default desktop icon is. And frankly, most of them are quite hideous. But again, that is because docklets are for docks, not desktops, and the dock icons are what are important.

I did also try judge's Mapi notifier, but a Mapi notifier isn't really suited to what I need.

So yeah, it's all about the bloody icon. If I missed a docklet that does allow you to change its icon, or if there is a setting other than "set image" in AveDesk that I missed, please tell me.

Or if AndreasV wants to tell me how to change the default desktop icon for his Pop Mail Notifier, that'd be great, too. :D

Thanks for the great work from all of you. It's much appreciated.

I use this docklet and have had no problems with it. It doesn't support IMAP though.

Right. That's AndreasV's. Works great, but the default icon doesn't exactly fit in with my desktop. Were you able to change the icon in AveDesk?

you can always just go to the docklet image folder and change the default image there.

just make sure new image name = same as old image name.

@realitybath1: Tried that. No joy. The icon that shows up on my desktop when I add the docklet to AveDesk is not included in the images. So I can't switch them out like that.

Yeah I was able to change the icon with no problems. You have to right click on the docklet itself and select Configure docklet images. That is where you will change the images for Mail and New Mail. If you change the image through AveDesk, then it will revert to the default, due to the settings in Configure docklet images.

Okay, I got it working. Once I cleared the "play animation" box under "configure docklets behavior", it worked. It kept my icons. I don't know why it wouldn't work with it ticked, since the mail_ani.png is there, but whatever. I'll do w/o the animation. It's all good.

YAY! I have the desklet I wanted!

Guess this maybe should be in the support forum now? Sorry.
