you can set the transparentcy of your docklet, and when mouse over it will fade in.

and there's an important thing, if you want to change to other effect. you need to set the "mouseOutAlpha" to 255, in case you get your desklet stock in transparentcy.

I am very new to this aspect of desktop (enhancements) magics! but i just have to sound off in this my very first post over here and say how very Xtremely Impressive i find AveDesk and each one of you who are contribute to this activety, the members, and especially the developers, all alike.
All of you put a whole new spin on a thoroughly satisfying and enjoyable computer experience ever found! 
this is a great little addition to the other effectlets in AD1.2
wonder if something similar (or just a straight port of this) would be included in AD1.3?

you can set back the desklet transparency in the OnDestroy method to fix this - it will make the desklet "solid" before you change effect 
I think you guys should post some screenshots whenever U release a desklet
