yeah I concur, you can get a 200gb drive for the price of that 80gb minimate and still have enough to buy a hub for ports. It might not be the best deal, but it sure does look nice, and I am sure design *****s will shell out the extra clams just to be destijl ![]()
you guys are sooo spoiled! sure, you could buy all the separate parts cheaper, but it wouldn't look as nice as this. and while it might be a bit pricey, it's not even close to being "outragiously (sic) priced".
years ago, i worked at the now defunct micropolis corporation, a hard drive manufacturer. i remember one of the hot employees deal posted on the board: an 8", 400mb (yes, megabyte) drive for only $850. we were all amazed that they'd sell them to us so cheaply! my friend actually bought one! (back then, $850 was a lot of money)!!
oh well. i doubt people can afford it even if it is worth the price. i just don't think that doubling the price of a normal harddrive with a sleek alluminum case is worth it.
well it has more usb and firewire ports... thats what i like about it.
Ugly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
looks ok, shame about the logo plastered across the front, not very sleek

that's easily fixed with a silver gel pen, lol.
I'd get one in an instant fi I wasn't planning on a new iMac over summer.
I'm a college student in the dorms, so space is an issue, plus I do video and graphic editing so some extra ports would be great, as well as the extra HD space. It's a bti expensive, but it sames me so much space and cables flying everywhere.
