How do you Maximize your opened windows in a Windows XP Aquafied desktop?
How do you Maximize your windows?
neither. i max my windows with the dock always on top. and it's 'overlap', not 'overloap'.
I'll keep it short and simple : with WindowFX ![]()

WindowFX doesn't work for me.. Does anyone know a other app that does work?
Does WindwFX Performance are good? cuz last time I installed it it was killing my PC.
ahem, im on a mac, and i have safari go down to the bottom, with the dock on autohide, i believe that "(like a real mac)" statement is incorrect.
I use this thing called HSI that creates a "Margin" at the bottom of the screen - like the task bar
There are probably four or five threads about this. As for WindowFX not working, if it's not working, you probably have another program running that's interfering, or else there's something odd about your computer. Unload every other program and try WindowFX by itself. It works on a normal computer with a normal setup, so if it's not working for you, there's something not normal about your computer/setup.

WindowFX does the job for me: maximise with a margin.
(auto-hide makes my dock show up on the most inconvinient moments)

Do you have a link to that program? I can't find it..
I fail to see a practical reason to have a margin so that the dock stay always clear. Maybe on an Apple Display of 23-30" it's fun, but on my 17" monitor, I can't seem to have enough space. After all every dock offers various options: autohide/allways on top/margin hotspot.
Um... how about because it's ugly and dysfunctional, belgrano? I don't know, I like being able to see my dock icons without having web page content underneath them. I like being able to click links on the bottom of a web page without my dock popping up and stealing focus.
I'm baffled that anyone -wouldn't- understand the purpose for a margin.
I want to see my dock too, don't get me wrong but there is not enough space! I run 10 things simultaneously and I would want to see all of them, but I can't. And I find margin hotspot quite satisfactory 93.5% of time (when it gives focus back). I keep dock's magnification turned on so if the dock would always be cleared, it would still overlap the edge of the window when I hover the mouse over it.
I switch between both, but usually I manually do it. There shoudl be a program that lets you configure the maximum size of a window.
