[wip] iMac 3d model

Hi all!

Yesterday I had noting to do so I made a 3d model of iMac. It is very simple by now, later I'll add all stuff like in real iMac.

But I don't have mac, so I ask you lucky who have it to comment my work and point me on my mistakes.

And I have a question: on real mac, whole front panel is plastic or glass (or transparent plastic) is glued over plastic?

Don't blame me for poor renders, it is only a model without sinle texture or light source, and it is rendered in Rhino. Final version will be rendered in 3dsmax7 using finalRender Stage-1.

Here is thumbs, click to see full size.

the whole iMac body is white plastic encased in a layer or shiny, glossy transparent plastic

the base/arm is anodized aluminum

don't forget the apple in the front, the words "iMac" on the back, the ports & power button, and the hole in the stand

That's a cool project. If you need anything help-wise with 3ds max, just give me a holler.

Looks good thus far, but you're missing the hole in the lower back of the stand.. and FYI the clear-plastic layer is, I'd say, about 3/16" thick. Not sure if you're working from measurements or not, but if so, that might help a bit. :)

Yep, I know model is missing a LOT. But I'm going to add everything. And yes, I'm working using measurements, but I use metric system... so... 3/16" is 0.5 centimeters right?

Some new wip 3dsmax scereenies

Looks pretty good so far.

the aluminum stand isnt so dark...but that could just be the lighting of the 3d environment

When you finish the actual iMac, put an image on the screen and add the keyboard, mouse and speakers.

Needs the hole on the stand.
