(question): Dashboard and the Ripple Affect

???

I have a Radeon 9000 pro, and Quartz Extreme is supported, but my Widgets are not appearing w/ the Ripple affect? Is there a preference button that needs to be enabled? Or is this something that is Core Image uses? Been to the Support site, .pdf's here and there, no answers?

Trying to learn Tiger as fast as possible.

:)

It looks like the Brushed metal is a tad brighter? Has more glare to it? It was the first thing I noticed when I fired up Finder. Anybody agree? Oh and Spotlight, by default Command + Spacebar. . .dude nice for firing up Apps!

TIger is great out of the box (so far)

it is because ripple effect requires Core Image, not Quartz.

R9000 does not support CI and that is why you don't get the ripple effect.

it is because ripple effect requires Core Image, not Quartz 2D.

R9000 does not support CI and that is why you don't get the ripple effect.

Just to reiterate what Unbe said (don't want to get slapped by the MAFIA for ignorance do we?) the following cards support Core Image:

ATI Mobility Radeon 9700

ATI Radeon 9600 XT, 9800 XT, X800 XT

nVidia GeForce FX Go 5200

nVidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra

nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL, 6800 GT DDL

PS, the ripple is just eye candy, my card supports it and I wish i could get rid of the ripple
