I am not sure of this, but is their a way to convert .SITX, SIT, DMG, into icons that can be used on Windows such as .ICO or .PNG? :confused: I think you can use Stuffit Expander to do this, but I am not sure for these file types. I would really appreciate any help given. Thanks.

Hey Spyrte! You know, SIT and SITX are Apple archive types, and DMG, if i not mistaken, is disk image file.
sit and stix are not apple archive types
they are proprietary archive formats for STUFFIT
dmg is a mac os disk image file
you cannot convert them into icons, their contents can though...there is a thread in the icons & cursors forum [omg surprising?!] about converting using STUFFIT...it is impossible to open a dmg on windows w/o emulator...there is a dmg2iso prog that will SOMETIMES work and convert a dmg to an iso that is mountable in windows
Essentially,
THEY ARE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS.
It's like trying to convert a .zip file into an icon.

why would you want to convert a .dmg to .iso... mounting an apple program on windows would get you where?

you cannot convvert a disk image into an icon file
you need to convert it to iso to mount it to get the icons WITHIN THE DISK IMAGE FILE

I converted my mac icons into windows PNGs, but I cant really get a good effect when I convert it to windows icons because it looks it doesnt come out clear like how other windows icons come out, and only PNG files come out as clear. Its frustrating but thanks. I appreciate all of your help. If you can help me by getting clear mac converted icons to windows I would really appreciate it. Thanks again.

Axialis iconworkshop on Windows quite likes making ico's from PNG files. it's not free though :slant:
not only that, but axialis also opens up all mac icon files. its a great program, but as zilla mentioned, its $$$
