stylish, yeah...

but it's a pretty good monitor for 300$$ except is is ugly as **** :(

#277090

Any flatscreen that's not also widescreen is generally a rip-off. Fcuk Dell, get an Apple display.

#277095

lol i don't think he wants to pay a thousand bucks for a 20" when he can get a 19" for less than a third of the price :(

#277105

yes, I don't have that mutch money to spend, I have about $360.. Any idea's?

#277107

i think a better investment would be the dell 19" ultrasharp, great monitor.

#277152

meh, You get what you pay for, and he would be happiest with the Apple Cinema Display.

You should read up on why and how they've gotten flatscreens so cheap. They're really a different technology.

What the hell are you talking about? Some people prefer non-widescreen. ie. for multimon.

And its not like widescreens are usually cheaper.

The dell's one step up from the one he's looking at cost 1/2 as much as an apple cinema display right now.

They use the SAME display panel as the apple.

1/2!.

SAME PANEL!!!

= ACD is a comparative ripoff unless your really set on paying $500 for a $1.50 steel frame.

How do you know if he'd be the happiest with an ACD? He obviously doesn't want to and/or can't spend that much.

Huh? What are you smoking, and can I have some?

@GordonNL, dells are pretty known for being good deals for monitors in terms of quality/$. You should check on the tech sites for reviews though - I know that the monitors above that one are pretty good (except for probs with first gen 2005fpws) but don't know anything about that monitor.

I personally try to stay away from dell... cant say I had the best experience w/ it... I find samsung to be much better... i'd suggest somethin like the Samsung 930B...

Something to keep in mind is that the connector is D-Sub which, correct me if I'm wrong, is analog. You might wanna look on newegg and find something with a DVI connector. Just my 2 cents :)

#277301

oke, and wath do you guys think of this one?:

should I get a white or a black one? I think the white one matches better with the mac looks on my pc..

#281468

it would be nicer if you showed us a direct link to the model, rather than a picture. that way we can see the specifications.

#281502

I think it is only sold in Europe so I can't find any english sites..

but here is a dutch site, I think you will understand the specs:

nevermind, I think I am going to buy this philips:

the specs are pretty good, but what do you think about the way the pannel looks?

DVI connectors are not always digital.

There are several types of DVI connectors and most cheaper FP are actualy analog.

You want one with either a DVI-I or DVI-D connector.

DVI-A is just an analog connection.

Here is a good link that explains it pretty nicely.

let me tell you now that apple cinema displays are THE BIGGEST RIPOFF IN THE MONITOR WORLD. I'm telling you right now that all apple cinema displays have a response rate of at least 25ms, which is bad. Not to mention the $800 price tag for a 20 inch monitor!! Wow thats ridiculous. Now, i have personal experience with dell monitors, and personally, they are pretty damn good. They have average response rates (16-20ms), DVI connections, and great native resolutions.

@twinkikabuki: you obiously have no idea what you are talking about and frankly, if you pay 500 for a 20" sony display, you will be much happier

@Pat Yan: You think everything that isnt apple is ugly, so frankly I'm convinced that you have no sense of style, architechure, or design. So shut up for once.

#281597

Belinea is a really good monitor. Tho I was looking at the philips one for myself too, because it's so cheap ;)

LG makes the best monitors: good response, all TFT, great prices

ALL Apple Cinema displays have a 16ms response time.

Don't know what outdated info you were looking at, but your info is incorrect.

I do agree with you on one thing.. they are overpriced.

And as I stated in a previous post... having a DVI connection means jack... just because a monitor has a DVI connector, doesn't make it digital. Most low end FP with DVI are analog only.

And Apple uses Samsung panels in their displays, which are considered some of the best around.

must have been looking at outdated info, got it from a google page.

#281611

oke, thank you all for your responses..!!

witch one does look better to you?

this LG the Philips the Belinea the fujitsu Siemens the Xerox or the Acer AL1922hs

#281615

The LG "looks" the best, what model is it?

I noticed that some of the newer LG's have an 8ms response time and a 500:1 contrast ratio... not bad at all.

#281620

LG Flatron L1950S

#281623

The L1950S was replaced (old stock maybe, but no longer available from LG) with the L1951S.

The L1951S has a 12ms response time... not bad.

Buy.com has it for $379.00
