[help] university application

hey guys!

i am currently workin on my application for the university of the arts here in germany to study digital media. deadline for the application folder: next week.

this is my big dream, i am focused, i am motived, I would even starve and suffer to study at this university...

therefore i am determined to get as much opinions on my works as possible. i have no real "friends" here who would be smooth talkers, i want to know what you think and even more important: what I can improve!

the folder will be printed on DIN A2 (german format, about 42 * 59 cm).

I'll post a lot of pdf's this evening/night, so take a look around again after a while.

01. everyday life the way i love it (self-expression)

the red "veränderung" is change, the words between the numbers are activities during the day. at the end: 1440 minutes. everyday life the way i love it.

THe stuff looks really good...my only real piece of advise is to do more....this is a portfolio showing, you want to show as much diversity as possible. This is a great start though.

I would send no less than a dozen pieces.

stellar artwork so far, looks very nice. but as photo said, variation is the key. try not to focus on a single theme, that is, dont make 80% of the elements in your folder grunge-ish pieces. instead, give us something sugary-sweet!

I love them all... really awesome work. Only thing I can suggest (though this may only be me) is that the color for the heart on your first piece is too light. I don't know, it just seems to blend in with the background too much.

I think they're nice design pieces, but they don't really show off your artwork/technical ability....

Ask the folks at www.kirupaforum.com. There's a lot of professional designers there that are more than happy to give in-depth critique. (I'm a member there as well).

umm, thanks for the advice!

problem is: the university of the arts is focused on creativity (not on technique), they don't want a "perfect" student, they want open-minded people with lot of talent, a great visual understanding and someone they can "form".

I just looked at the final ver. All I can say is "wow !!! ".

The only thing I didn't like is the ruled by solitude. The pic of the heart is very gruesome and I am not able to make the connection b/w "ruled by solitude" and the bleeding human heart. You can probably change the tittle to "Ruined by Solitude" and probably put a anime or vector image of a very sad girl or somethng like that. That probably makes more sense

But overall, its amazing work. Good luck with the application. !!!

Other than that... KICKASS work. I feel like buying that "FEAR IS YOUR FRIEND" shirt...
