[help] changing the "safely remove hardware" icon?

Hello guys,

I've been wondering for a while how you're supposed to change the "safely remove hardware" icon? I'm guessing I need to edit some kind of .dll or .exe, but I simply cant find which one... The issue is not removing the icon from the notifications bar (although I would like to know why windows is so keen on making me remove my sata HD), but really changing the icon.

So: Does anyone know WHICH FILE I need to edit (I'm guessing reshacker will have to do) in order to change this icon?

Thank you in advance...

Well, no need for an answer anymore :)

For anyone wondering how to do this:

1. Start reshacker

2. Look for a stop.object.dll file in your windows/system32 folder

3. Open this file

4. Replace icon group number 210

5. Replace the file with your favourite method

6. Replace the stopobject.dll file in your WINDOWSsystem32dllcache folder (you'll need to unhide system protected folders in folder options)

This is for windows XP SP2 only, and at your own peril. If your computer explodes and kills everyone in its near proximity, you're the one to blame...

For those who don't want to go through all the trouble, you can actually simply remove the "safely remove hardware icon" by changing the name of the "batmeter.dll" file in your system32 folder to batmeter.bak . (You'll need to do the same in the dllcache folder). Be warned, this is the battery meter, so I wouldn't change it if you're on a laptop...)
