Blue transition screen between boot and logon

How do you get rid of that purply blue transitional splash screen between the boot screen and the welcome screen in Windows Xp?

Its been a question never answered and rarely asked.

I have tried using power toy's 'tweak ui', which allows you to supposidly change the transition screen with a picture of your choice; however all i get is wallpaper, transition screen, wallpaper and then welcome screen...

Is it impossible to get rid of the purple splash screen?

If anyone knows how to hack this XP annoyance, let us in on the secret once and for all.

i use logon loader with panther logon screen, i dont know if it fixes somehow that "feature" cuz i have no transition screen or whatever you mean... but i do have sometimes, when the lap comes back from "standby", this: i can see my wallpaper, then a blue screen (not purple) which is not looking that bad, and then the logon screen. but its not always, and just for less than a second... Sry but i really dont know how to fix it, the only thing i can say is to try out the logon loader app...

Purple splashscreen... Do you mean the "boot gui", where you see the progress of the booting procedure? If that's what you mean, you just need to add a /****ootgui command in your boot.ini (I'm not sure that's the exact syntax, so tell me if that's what you want to do: I'll check for the exact syntax).

I think thats just you'r video card. Some video cards show a quick splash screen while loading. I don't know of a way to get rid of it. But if you REALLY hate it that much you could get a new video card....

No its not the boot screen with "Windows Xp" and the loading animation, nor is it the welcome screen.

Its a really really short screen between boot and logon, its like a fading purple screen transition;

-you don't notice it if you have the default windows xp 'welcome screen' because it fades beautifully into it. but i now have a osx logon, and it just looks bad.

its just a really little annoyance, that you may not even notice- but just sit and watch after your next boot.

I know the screen you're talking about. I think it's actually the wallpaper (background) colour of the login screen, but you dont normally see it because the login screen covers it up. So on my PC it just flashes up for a second once the login screen has dissapeared right before my windows wallpaper kicks in.

I was able to change this using a program called Madonote which can be found at http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~vr4m-ikw/Global/

Any News? I Guess This Is A Tricky One!

Okay I found Posts on [NeoWin] (no solution) and [VirtualPlastic] (someone is guessing the blue color is hardcoded in the . Possibly.

I guess, possibly it has something to do with the Luna Styles.

So i tried to replace it in the Reg., even deleted it, but no succes.

One Thing: If Switching to OldStyle-LogOn-Box there is no such screen. Mmh.

Anyone has an idea?

Edit: It seems only users with not that fast machines get this issue

Just out of interest, do you want to change teh colour, replace it with an image or remove it entirely?

Changing it shouldn't be that hard.

I'd suggest somebody making a login screen but replacing all teh colours with the same one (ie. green)

Then if you restart and you get a green transition screen, you know it's a colour you can chose while making a login screen.

Then just rule out all of them 'till you hit the right one.

Either that or I'm completely wrong.

First of all Thanx and Happy New Year!! (it´ll take 10 hours for me, weird!)

Well, I´d like to change it to a simple color. But because this screen is the same on all LogonSkins, it must be a value that can´t be changed with Logonui.exe editors.

Right now I´am trying to hack the logonui.exe an HEX-editor. Allready found some values (in reverse order) but didn´t work yet (hold on, didn´t reboot...)

Edit: No Succes. Rebooting isn´t neccesary anyway, i guess.

There are a huge number of RGB Values which could match!

5A 7E DC, 5A 7F DC, all slightly different.

Edit: It would be great if I could get some ideas. i tried:

- Searched the Logonui.exe for the 3bytes, found many ones, turned them to Zero,

It´s still possible it´s in there but I can´t find them, better said, i don´t know exactly

what to look for. That´s the bad thing! Must be around RGB 75 105 195. maybe slighly darker.

- Searched the whole sys32 for the Hex-String.

- Looked in the ASCII part of Logonui.exe.

- Searched The Reg.

- Installed several tools, just to know if the can handle.

- Another Idea: It´s in the .msconfig file - Looked it through

But if i press Win+L it still flashes. It´s like the last piece for my OS; and it´s well hidden.
