Hey There!
I am looking at purchasing a digital camera and was wondering if you could help me to decide. I want a 5MP Canon, and these are the two options at the moment. The SD400 is secure digital, whereas the S500 is compact flash, but apart from that, I can't tell the difference between the two cameras.
Can someone please help?

The 500 is a year older...only really some minor improvements on the newer model...check out mem card prices....

i was in the same position, trying to decide between the two. i just bought the sd400 for $359 with free shipping at buy.com. great deal!
as for a comparison, the s500 is older and slower. the sd400 has the new digic ii processor, so it loads and takes photos faster, plus it has usb 2.0 support. and, as you know, it's sd, not compact flash.
