how would one go on about replacing these icons with the shutdown/restart icons in the start menu?
Shutdown/Reboot Icons
Here's a copy of my post at emaculation, in case anyone was interested and missed it...
Back on Aqua-Soft forums there was a thread where i've posted my shutdown / reboot icons...Since there is no A-S forum at the mo, i'll post the NEW and IMPROVED version ("NOW with 100% PURE juice and abundance of STRIPES") here...
also, someone aksed for a hibernate button (how the heck do you make your comp hibernate with "shutdown"???) so i added that too...
and a yellow version of reboot icon too... for extra pleasure...
Hope you find them yummy...

PS: Updated version coming soon (thicker stripes + lighter colors... although they look kinda bland when lightened up)
Restart Shutdown and logoff.
with NO 3rd pary program
[From VirtualPlastic]
enter (as you would in the command line)
rundll32 user.exe,exitwindows
(to exit Windows)
rundll32 user.exe,ExitWindowsExec
(to restart Windows)
rundll32 shell32.dll,SHExitWindowsEx 2
(to reboot the computer)
rundll32 shell32.dll,SHExitWindowsEx
(to log off the current user without the confirmation question)
those of you using XP
can also use Shutdown that is built into windows
shutdown -r (restart computer)
shutdown -s (shutdown computer)
shutdown -l (logoff user)
with these you can add "-t xx"
where XX is the amound of seconds you want to delay till shutdown.
also.. if you want to try..
you can abort a system shutdown with
shutdown -a
orcinus: They are not ugly at all.. far from it, they are awesome!
Oh... Thanx!
There wasn't a single comment on new icons so i got the impression that noone liked them...

Hope you'll like them...
new contrast / colors seem a bit screwy - i definately have to get my color profiles straight...
Merry Xmass!!! Ho ho ho... etc... ![]()

When I first saw the icons in the post i thought they were still too dark
yet, when I tried them on the dock they looked just grat this time.
Thanks: great job!
Thanks!
It's kinda weird, but they act the same way on my dock... i get the feeling objectdock brightens the icons' gamma... they look lighter on the dock than the way explorer AND objectdock's own preview show them... funny...
And they look just right in photoshop under win2000 (i'm running the dock under xp) with the very same monitor profile loaded that i use in xp... strange...
Orcinus
Edit: Nope! They actually ARE lighter in objectdock's preview TOO!!! Try putting OD's item properties with the icon loaded next to the one in IE window and you'll see!
orcinus, could you please make a Lock Workatation icon please? In the same style as the last 4 icons you posted.
Thanks in advance.
Here it is... the Lock icon's here, as requested (scroll a bit up... i added it in my previous icon post)
Looks like we have a full rainbow now ![]()

Thanks a lot orcinus! It's great ![]()
First of all, Happy New Year, everyone!
Haven't done anything new in a while... (too busy)
I've been sitting in front of a brand-new-kickass-shiny 17'' iMac (unfortunately, it's not mine... i'll have to return it in about two weeks) for past xx hours so i felt compelled to do something for yaz...
Here... the new Orb version icons:

Nothing special, but they do look a bit better than the old ones... Hope someone finds them useful...
C'yaz,
Orcinus
Wow, these are great! nice work..
orcinus, what is your website, so we can see all your work and beta icons ?
Thanx for kind comments!
Sorry, i don't have a website yet... i designed a few sites some time ago and i even started making my own a few times but i never got to finishing it...
Maybe i sit down in near future and finally make myself a decent web home...
Just BTW, there are no icons other than the ones i've already posted here + the aquaTunes dolphin...
Orcinus
but why do you put a copyright after all your releases? ![]()
Because people have a tendency of using icons (in general) in their skins and collections without properly crediting the original author...
I am fully aware that not many people would do something like that with my icons, that my copyright notices don't do much good, and that the whole issue could seem laughable, but the copyright stuff gives ME a peace of mind...
(and a legally pursuable way out of any authorship dispute... not that i, like i said, should expect one to arise...
)
