[help] iTunes randomly opens...

Every now and then(like once or twice a week) when I double click a picture in the finder, or launch a program, iTunes will start up randomly suuuuuper slowly and both operations willslow down.

What's going on? I can't think of any reason why it happens. I have my iPod on autoupdate, and leave it plugged in all the time, but I also have the "open itunes when this ipod is attached" unchecked. It's really annoying.

I also have some iTunes widgets for konfabulator that i have auto-open when itunes runs. Could those be makign iTunes open?

Are you running the iTunesController widget? When I had that open, iTunes would open everytime I ran konfabulator, and there were times when it would open for no aparent reason. It never slowed down my computer, but it was frusterating. That could be your problem.

Yeah, I run that along with iTunesCompanion and iTunesDisplay.

I use all three cause i Like the hotkeys, I like seeing (and automatically downloading) album art, and I liek to see the general info.

I'll ditch the controller for now, and get a hotkeys widget to see if it solves teh problem.

My comp woudl slow down because iTunes would choose to open at poor moments, such as launching iPhoto or FCP or PS.
