to solve that perfectly. you need to buy a router and 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch or Hub

There isnt anyway that anysoftware could speed up your connection. (although many apps claim to, they cant. in fact if anything they screw it up worse) Software could never speed up how fast your ISP's servers respond to request, packets, pings etc. Because of the fact that, its a physical cable conection, that has to send the requests through, if the cable is not a 1000/100000 speed cable, it wont be able to send requests faster than the physical cable/ or server for that matter, can handle.

In short, your computer sends little requests to your ISP's server called 'packets', like packets of information, that packet can contain say, a request for information from aqua-soft.org (eg: you were trying to reach A-S homepage) now, after that packet gets sent to your ISP's server, the server then connects to the server that is hosting A-S. (it find the other server by way of sattelite. their DNS server send out the 'identification' of the server) your ISP's server then sends their server the packet, which tells them to give information from A-S (homepage source, images, etc) back to your ISP's server, which in turn gives it to your line. And your able to view the homepage (your browser interprets the source code, into a visual website)

I think thats right. Hope i helped somehow.

Im not sure if you can do it with DSL, but I picked up a signal amp and it basically just boosted the speed of the cable wire coming in. dsc006786fs.th.jpg

Its that black box on the left

I dont know how much this is going to help but, if there is no one at the other 2 computers, you could always just un-plug em from the lan... It was the only thing i could think of...

Google for Netlimiter.

You install it on each PC, and set the maximum bandwidth you want that PC to use. That way you can make sure none of them are ever hogging it all :)

Also check if your modem already does routing, in which case you could plug it straight into the hub you are using on your lan...
