[REL] Panther/Tiger Wallpaper for Nokia 6230

OK... after seing Unbe request for how to skin his phone, I thought I would give it a try with my own phone.

I have a new Nokia 6230, sweet phone btw, and decided to make a skin/wallpaper for it.

If you own a Nokia, the little grey boxes make sense.

Just right click and save.

Then upload to your phone and set as wallpaper.

Instant Mac like desktop.

UPDATED!!! Gave it a more realistic look.

New dock look to bottom bar

Info bar at top now has proper task bar look.

And a cool screensaver

Since Nokia S40 series phones use animated GIF's as screensavers, this was easy to create.

Download the PSD. The PSD template contains all the elements for Panther and Tiger screens.

You are all free to use this however you choose, just give proper credit if you decide to share.

I'm sure it is... this was my first attempt.

Remember, there is text where the boxes are, so they have to remain pretty plain.

Nokia was kind enough to make the text black with NO ability to change the size, color or font.

So this leaves very little options when making backgrounds with any texture.

The top bar has a ton of Icons that can appear depending on what services you are running.

So putting an Apple logo or something in there would interfere with ones ability to read the status properly.

I guess I could pinstripe it or something along those lines...

Suggestions are always welcome.

Just a few things to remember when making stuff for phones.

Not much realestate to work with.

With the Nokia 6230, I only have 128 x 128 space to work with so you can imagine the constraints.

well i was thinking just having the root menu tile/stretch on the top bar and on the bottom have like a dock with separators?

@pat Not sure if you own a 6230, but you don't want to be putting any graphics or text insdie those boxes.

As I said... it would make using the phone pretty difficult.

I can make the dock pretty easy, but it would have to be empty and of course it wouldn't do any animation.

I am changing the top bar graphics to look more like the real thing, but they still need to be pretty... well.... boring in order to stay useful.

I'll have some new stuff for you guys tomorrow... so relax and enjoy.

See screenshot below. It's a horrible one made from a Nokia theme program, but should give you an idea of the layout. The color quality and detail are much better than what is displayed in the screenie.

The signal strength and battery status bars are mock-ups also.

EDIT: I lightened the dock in my PSD so I could post versions with... LIGHTER DOCKS!
