[help] miranda drop-shadow

well, i saw some of u guys are having drop-shadow applied by using the clist-nicer. i mean u use no boarder and no background. further i read that some of u do it with an avedesk-shortcut behind miranda. well, ok, i can follow this thought, but the size of miranda changes by coming contacts online/offline, so how should the shortcut-thing do this?

well, in short: is there an way to get drop-shadow for miranda.

i´m using latest release 0.4 build april 7

Or you could do what I do - keep all contacts shown whether they are online or not and sort them by groups, not by status. Keep all groups expanded and you're set !

Also, I have a pretty small list, so I guess it works out for me and probably won't for ppl who have desktop-height sized clists ;)

use jeff's addshadow and use version 0.01 of tweakUI. Then add a titlebar with the name "Miranda IM" and add the setting "caption= Miranda IM" to addsahdow config. (or something like that, dunno the exact config"

then use WinFX and you're done

no need for addshadow for me... winfx shadows by default. If you are using tweak ui to hide the titlebar (no borders) then there is a trick to get miranda to show a drop shadow stil using winfx wthout addshadow. click on the window arrow under contact list settings. Make sure that show title bar is checked... if it isnt then check it or... uncheck it... hit appply then check it again... you should now see a drop shadow around miranda if you are using windowfx... then click on resize contact list to the height of the list hit apply.. .then uncheck the box that says show titelbar... and you should hav ea nice beautiful drop shadow.

Hehe! Nice trick bzeitler!! It wors great but only with non rounded corners! Anyway looks really nice though! THX MAN!

You could always just click show titlebar, apply, then go to tweakUI and click default, without hitting apply, and hitting no border again. should work with rounded corners...

@ Raul :

Have a look here and let me know if you like this : http://www.deviantart.com/view/17101841/. I could send you over my zipped Miranda folder by email. My current setup is virtually identical to the screenie except that it has no rounded borders and I managed to get the drop shadow working.

If you would rather do it yourself, then perhaps we can chat on IM. My usernames are on my DevArt profile :)
