[REQUEST] Internet Traffic Meter

Is there a desklet that sits on your desktop displaying your internet speed and total uploads & downloads?

i would love to get this too because we are all connected thru a network i wanna see just how fast my connection is

You can do all this and more with SysStats. There's already a pre-made network speed monitor for you, and I'm sure that you could easily make a bandwidth history graph for yourself.

It does not show "total uploads and downloads". If you mean files, I'm not sure this is possible. If you meant bytes, I experimented with some promising meters, but could not get that to work, although I think it is possible.

It also does not show total possible speed. There is a meter ( in the PHDs...) that shows this, but it just returned a huge number, probably download bits, and I didn't play with it further.

For the most part, once you've looked at a few configs, you should be able to experiment and create one to suit any specific needs!
