The buttons were a bit of a quick fix, so how about these, better? or still not very iPodGUI like?

mmm. those buttons are definately better, though i still cant help but feel that smaller buttons would be even better. just making smaller versions of those buttons. also, have you tried maybe giving everything a bit more of a "mac" type font? say, something like lucida mac bold or lucida grande? also, but i dont know if this would look good, maybe even the font used on actual ipods. for the record, that font is called "chicago"
the glyphs at the top, primarily the "-" (ie. minimize) needs a little more work, since it seems to be pointer on the left end than it is on the right. and i think all of them should have squarer edges, kind of like how you see in the regular mac traffic light glyphs.
the only other opinion i have it you know the titlebar part? the one with the X - and + buttons? i think if you make the reflection on it (i dunno what thats called. maybe the gloss effect you have on it) a little more apparent (but not too apparent), it would give an overall nicer effect
btw, this looks really great, and the only reason i'm giving so much feedback is because this has great potential and i really want to use it when it comes out so thanks!

ok, i can't seem to find the chicago font on my computer, used to have it, so does anyone know where i can get it?
it's the one used on the iPod display titlebar.
EDIT: Just had an idea, it's probably stored on the iPOd somewhere. well i hope it is, that might have been where i got it before...

Ok, now i have this peculiar problem with the buttons. Anyone with good experience of building windowblinds skins may be able to help me.
If you see here...
...the transparency of the edges in the preview is fine, but when running the actual skin, it screws up creating these horrible thick black lines. any pointers?
P.S. All images are 32bit targas edited and then saved from Photoshop without any compression.
@CDi: is translucency for buttons being use?
