Shinobi Icons

I just wanted to show some icons I've been working on for the past day or 2. These are inspired by shinobi  . I have so many more to go. :o

I think the trash can is a little uninspired but I couldn't think of what to add to it. Maybe some exposed circuitry or something? I kinda like a little simplicity though. You can't see it on the background it's on but the trash can it'self is kinda transparent the different walls I made in it. making it kinda see through.

Looks good man looking forward to trying them out heh

- I kinda feel that they need some perspective and angle guidelines to look more uniform.

- The blue lights need to be of the same size (angle too?)

- And you can make the trash bin round.

Awesome icons. Im lookin forward to them. I do like the square trash can.

Nice icons smoke, but the trash looks like a speeker or a box or something like that!!

Mi5ka, thanks for the suggestions I'll take them into consideration. The thing you have to keep in mind is that I'm doing them totally in 2d. So it is a bit hard to get the perspective perfect.

Maybe I should close the folder and that would make it look more in the same angle as the trash can and floppy disk. I used the gimp's map object feature to change the perspective of the blue lights to put them onto the icons. So for example the hard drive icon the angle of the glyph had to be different to put it on top of the hard drive and then made smaller to fit on there. If I change the angle of the icon then I would change the angle of the blue light with it. Maybe I should get a 3d program.. nah, I like doing it by hand, heh. I'm still practicing.

I do intend on including a couple of versions of some of the icons so some people can choose so I think I will make a round trash can also. Any suggestions for the glyph on the trash can to make it look less "speaker like"? I kinda don't want to do a recycle glyph becuase that would look too windows'ey.

For icons like for my music I was thinking of doing a blue glowey sunken note or something. I'm trying to be imaginitive here, like with my signature and avatar which I also totally drew myself. Like whoever said we don't have any creativity, heh.

*wouldn't let me edit so adding another post*

BTW, when I'm done with these could someone do me a favor and convert them to OSX format or tell me how? Axialis opens them but doesn't seem to be able to save in .icns format. I would put special thanks to you in the description.

I'd like to give back a little to the Mac community.

lookin great. :) i definitely am thinking along the lines of mi5ka though. and i'm glad you are gonna try and work what he suggested into them :) definitely watch your progress with these :)

So how would i put the angle of the glowy glyph on the hard drive the same as the others? Put it on the front of the drive? I would have to make it smaller if I did.

#24011

As for the trash, can you make it without any glyph? just black. and when it's full, you might stuck some glowy trash stuff in there... like folders-docs etc.

BTW, i'm miSka ;)
