In your desklet properties, on the label format tab, use "%pF %%" without the quotes 
I coped and pasted what you said, but he still didn't work.
at the moment, i have this:
%3 of %2%#
obviously the percentage and hash at the end is because i'm waiting to do the percentage thing underneath what i currently have.
This is what I use for my HDD shortcut personally and it works absolutely fine for me :
%f free, %t total (%pF %%)
Try this and let me know how it goes

is it possible to get avedesk to showing the percentage as a grahphic ?
Well, that was kinda blunt.... but you can do text effects with 2.5 ( i think thats the version number) to make it look pretty. lol not a graphic but close.
2.5? ave is only version 1.2....
He means SysStats 2.5 with AveDesk 1.2. 
well i updated my pidl and its still not working
