Not really.

The new version though, uses XML. So its a lot more customizable. It will change based on the visual style you are using.

You can change the splash screen for word (search the boards), and reshack the document icons. Too tired to tell you how though.

well, since you mentioned it, do you know how to change the splash screen? or do you know of any tutorial explaining how to do so? there was a topic about this at neowin, but it never got answered...
