Hmm... fosx shouldnt be the problem... i mean from what i know it doesnt effect any files which are required for an update...

flyakite osx does replace some files affected by post-sp2 updates (shell32.dll being one of them), but as far as i know, new modified versions are available via flyakite osx updater.
not sure what the problem is then Iam running the same thing and I can still get my updates.
exactly what kind of updates? (windows? flyakite? cnn news?)
btw, flyakite does not replace system files. what it does is replace resources inside of system files. i.e.: it does not replace shell32.dll, but rather finds the bmp's inside of shell32.dll and replaces those.

still, if you install windows xp with sp2, then apply flyakite osx, then patch windows (via windows update, automatic updates, manually), some of flyakite's mods are overwritten, so you need to run flyakite updater.
that is correct because while FAK does not replace system files, windows update does.
