App idea

I was thinking, you know how in OS X when you press the zoom button (counterpart of maximize) it doesnt actually maximize to the entire screen, but to the limits of the dock and finder bar. I was wondering, is it possible to have an app that would replicate this, maximizing to those limits instead of the entire screen except for full screen apps like games and movies (aka winamp full screen)? would anyone be interested in coding somethign similar?

There are a few threads about this. Search for "margins" or "hawkeye" or "shellinit" and you'll find what I'm talking about. Ultimately, though, WindowFX is the only viable option for me (as opposed to ShellInit, which is quirky)--although I haven't tried the nVidia one.
