Automator...

Probably all of you atleast heard of the Automator which is gonna appear in the 10,4 Tiger... For those who dont know what it is, here;

You can easily automate tasks like renaming a large group of files, resizing dozens of images to fit an iPhoto slideshow or creating iCal birthday events using Address Book contacts, then repeat those tasks again and again. Simple and easy-to-understand application Actions are the building blocks, so you don’t have to write any code. Each Action has all of the options and settings you need, so you don’t have to work hard to figure out how to make it work.

So, basicly just like "actions" in Photoshop, now that you know; I wanted to ask all of you, is there a program for windows that would do something like that? Cause I'm kinda getting tired of repeating same processes 500+ times...

Yeah, they had something like this in Windows 3.11 but Microsoft dumpped it and only left little bits of it in their current OSes.

I am asking myself if such a macro recorder has the same functionality as Automator:

Aint such macro recorders operate mostly with files?

The Mouse and Key Recorder may allow using applications to affect files too, but I see some problems with it: i) it is context sensitive: if focus is switch to a different application, then the meaning of key stroke becomes different; ii) usability of the recorder is limited by keystrokes supported by an application.

If all OSX native application have an interface the automator can use, then possibilities are practicely limiteless. Among all the new features of Tiger, this one might be the killer feature (at least for me).
