whats the difference between samurize and serious samurize?

same thing. Their new version was called "serious" samurize I believe.

is running two instances of ss better than 1 gigantic config? especially since it restarts every hour.

It depends on what you want to combine...

A Weather confing that needs to be restarted in order to refresh PNGs, should be in a separate instance.

Also, keep in mind that you won't be able to drag around items individually, if they are in the same config. So, big configs are better for items that are pinned to desktop at a specific position.

Separate instances though consume more memory. Not sure what's the benefit of running one client instead of more, but I've never come across any problems running 3 or sometimes 4 clients.

I don't really use samurize and haven't been to their site in a while so I thought for a while that serious samurize was just a joke. Kinda like a play on words like the PC game Serious Sam and then add the urize to it.
