Whenever I shutdown my PC I get two dialog boxes one after the other saying that a docklet it shutting down. You know that one that lets you end the task now or it tries to end on it's own. I'm curently using AveDesk 1.2 and SysStats 2.5. I only have the weather and two drive desklets running. When I was running the old versions of AveDesk and SysStats this never happend. What could this be?
[Help] Docklet taking too long to shut down
I have such dialog before shutdown too...
Had it a few times but not anymore
didn't change anything to my config so dunno what the problem was...
I thought it was Virtual Console but I'm not sure
Could it be, that you have another program running in the back ground?
for example, win-amp will go to one of drives (15 gigs) and re-index the files to see if any new ones have been added, this does take some time, norton does anohter task, meaning running a service behind (in the back ground) and executive services (Disk Keeper), and there are a dozens of other applications, that could also have caused this issue, even when the application is not running....
there are always a few applacations that have made it's way into this catagory, you can check your self, just the ones that are running in the back ground.
type this in, msconfig via the run panel.
>start>>run>>>msconfig
this will give you a boat load of info, but you may want focus on the startup tab, there you will see a list of applacations that will always start up when ever you have your pc "On" , meaning running on the back ground.
for what it's worth take a peek and you may have several programs there, I have some running by default, not my choice, like nortons, and several other key window services that are critical for the operation of the system.
some other nafers are like real audio, q-time, style-xp, tea-time(actuacally very important), nero , acrobat.
also find some important applacations there as well like ave-desk.
just an tip, good luck and hope that you are able to resolve this.
I also get this exact problem. It started after I installed DT Calender Mod,
