vBulletin Help!

Hello everyone, as you might have guessed already I am new to the Aqua-Soft forums but I am a big time fan.

Anyways, we recently switched our forums from phpBB to vBulletin and although vBulletin is without a doubt one of the best forum engines ever written, but it is a serious pain to design a theme for it. Now I know that the theme for this forum which I should mention "Kicks Ass" was custom designed from scratch, and I already have it, but there were a couple of minor questions which I couldn't find answers to along side the theme.

1. The XML file seems to be generated by some sort of an application and does not seem to be done by hand. What application?

2. Are there any tutorials for vBulletin theme design? good ones that is.

3. Is editing the default theme a wise idea when talking about vBulletin?

4. And again, what are the applications which we could use to reduce the hassle?

I would appreciate it if some of the questions were answered, thanx.

I can only help on #2: Generally it's a good idea to make a copy of the default theme and screw with that. This way, if you bork the copy, you can revert to the default.

Well even that would be great! It would really make the process faster. So is there a link or a book I could use?
