Aqua-Soft ForumsI have been having problems trying to code my avatar site. The design is ready and has been checked in Firefox, IE6, NS6, Safari and Opera and the CSS holds up on all counts. The problem lies in the fact I've not been given details about whether I have MySQL or not (The server is provided by a Canadian friend of mine who is very busy and only uses a small amount of the server for a personal reference address).
My initial solution was to have PHP translate an XML file (XUL style) into the user interface of the website, now I realise how hard it is to get it to work correctly. So, I started looking for alternatives on the web, first stop Macromedia Flex (Looks like a great system that does what I'd like but $12,000 is ridiculous, plus I'd have to get my friend to set it up for only me to use and they've only ever set up MySQL and PHP before).
So, does anyone know a system for PHP that meets my requirements (i.e. uses XML as a data file instead of MySQL)?
