I've Aquafied My Palm!

On Friday I bought a new Palm Zire 71 and decided that it was about time I had that Aqua look on my Palm as well as my 2 desktops and laptop. After about 3 night's work I think I've had as much success as one can have at making my Palm look Aquafied.

Well, SilverScreen (the launcher dethblud uses) has the option to change the ICONs as well! Other launchers like Zlauncher or MegaLauncher (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftw...fm?prodID=47382) can't do that afaik.

Please keep in mind that with these launchers you only skin - the launcher. For *skinning*, first try Colorize: http://pdassi.de/product.php?prod_id=7117 (might as well try Chrome http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftw...cfm?prodID=6253 ).

There also is a real skinning proggie for the Palm OS, i opened a link to it some months ago under the "PDA" section in theis board. Unfortunately, I lost the link and the post seems top be gone. There was a reply, though, maybe the member who replied still has the link?

For a long time I was using a program that was very similar to Colorize called Khroma. Since my Zire has Palm OS 5.2.1 it's got built in ability to change color schemes. As far as my SilverScreen theme goes, I've used Meniscus (formerly H2O) and I bought the MotoDodo icon set and I didn't think they looked aquaey enough, so I made my own theme and my own icons to more accurately capture the look of Aqua on my Palm.

that is awesome. i have a palm, but its a dinky little low res. the zire was the worst palm ever released but the zire 71 is prolly the best they have ever sold. kinda funny. great job!

Sorry for bringing back such an old thread, but since the questions were unanswered about Pocket PC, and I happen to have a Pocket PC...

Stardock's PocketBlinds is for Pocket PC what WindowBlinds is for Windows. There aren't many good themes though, and the Aqua themes looked so sucky (to me) that I didn't even bother downloading them. But if I ever get the time to make a skin or three, I want to do a good Aqua theme and maybe a few Linux themes (Bluecurve, Industrial). Themes can be found at Wincustomize. (I'd give the full URL with the proper skin library, but Stardock's sites seem to be down at the moment.)
Snoopsoft's Dashboard skins the Today screen and makes it a lot more useful. There's a skinner named Juni that does kickass skins, including a good Aqua skin. Older skins (including Juni's Aqua skin, I think) use a program called (Pelmar) Wisbar to skin the titlebar. Newer skins use Wisbar Advance (by a different company). The difference is that Dashboard's (1.5x anyway) built-in 'Allow Skin to Theme Bar Apps' functionality works for Wisbar, which has no skinning ability on it's own. Wisbar Advance has built-in skinning, but it's incompatible with Dashboard's titlebar skinning function. Bar Apps listed below. Dashboard themes can also be found at Wincustomize.

Icbar is another app that does similar things as (the) Wisbar(s), and all three apps are derived from the (apparently defunct) 'original' Wisbar. Icbar is a bit more of a hassle to skin (you have to set all the images manually) but seems to be a bit more stable/less graphically glitchy to me. It's what I'm currently using.

Right now I'm using Dashboard, Icbar, and PocketBlinds (set to skin controls only) together for a surprisingly decent looking WinXP Silver look. It's the only 'complete' skin I can find. If you're content with less complete skinning, Wisbar Advance + Dashboard is probably all you really need. And if anyone needs any help with any of this, I'd be more than happy to assist you.
