[wip] Milkmx

Hi all!!!

I m working on a new icon set named Milkmx!!!

There are two different versions of the icons, one is normal and one is with black stripes. :naughty:

The drop shadows and shading are too harsh. As well, the photo of the inside of the hardrive with the gloss look bad combined with the milk. BTW if I'm not mistaken, you stole Glide's glossy disk icon to put under your HD icon. Also, your inner shadows don't agree with your shading. Your inner shadows' light source are coming from the upper left, where as everything else has 90 degree light source.

yeah you are right with the shadows! there was a lil misstake when i made this image. The original icons have a shadow with 90°

the hard disk photo is a image from google!

Even if it is an image from Google, it looks bad when you just mask it over and put a weird gloss on it. As I said, inner shadows are bad, and all shading are too dark/don't blend well. It seems that Aqua-Soft may be fading.

Beautiful...just do (some of what) pwnzrzpat said, and lessen the black shading a little bit.

Looks good. If I may make a few suggestions.

As the name "Milk" implies, everything should be soft, smooth, slightly glossy with soft bevels and smoothly curvy with not too many dark areas. Less dark areas would make them look really gr8.

Making a stylized hard disk platter with a simple head shouldn't be too difficult and you can get rid of the Google image since it distracts attention from the hard work you have put into the outer casing.

If you could make the black stripes a 60 or 70 % black with soft indents, they would really look super cool

Don't get me wrong though - your work is great and by no means should my criticism deter you from going ahead !

Drives are amazing , but one (or two) things , i don't like the symbols of the drives (firewire, usb) , they sould be a darker milk , like the pressed button state in max's theme on like on your video folder.

And the gradientof the black part is too bif for me , maybe more like the whie part.
