External Drive Or Internal Drive?

Hey,

I really want to find out what is the best to get i reakon that i should get a External because they can hold heaps and they are portable but they cpst up to $250 so maybe i should get and internal.

what do you think?

Anyway, I forgot to tell you Just get a good internal and an external case. So much cheaper and easier. Also makes it easier because you don't have to get inside your computer to change things.

Besides, It won't be much use on a 300mhz p2 with USB1... If you MUST, get a USB2 card. I got one for 45 bucks. Upgrade it other ways while your at it...

Yeah seriously if you running at 300 mhz do yourself a favor and put the money of the new drive into a new motherboard /cpu/ram combo You could probaly get a 2.4ghz celD and 512 ram for a little more the 150$usd

anyhow to answer your question unless you need the portability and am goiing to use it often theres no doubt that internal drive is the way to go. speeds will be 4x+ faster

Out of all the members here Lostspyder knows what he's talking about in terms of hardware, my words may mean nothing, but seriously you can get a more current emachine for that price. Getting a drive will just provide more storage space, wouldn't you rather have a performance boost too? the ability to run the latest apps?

If you do decide to get an external I got mine here for a decent price, and theyre stylish too

was actually pretty fast. IT took a long time to boot up but after that it was

i agree on all counts.

the good things about external backup drives are:

-portability

-one touch backups

-protection (you can put it somewhere safe)

but he's right. a good external drive won't do you good with your setup.

If they are US Prices well then it wouldn't work because i'm from australia and i don't want anything to get shipped from Country to Country. I need prices in Australia in Victoria
