[Help] Shortcut to Floppy a:\ on desktop keeps dissapearing

Hello all,

I am having problems setting a shortcut on the desktop for my floppy drive. I can set a shortcut on the desktop, get everything set correctly but when I reboot the floppy desklet is no longer there. I'm using AveDesk 1.2 & PidlShortcut. AutoMounter is also installed.

Thanks!!!

Try saving the theme before rebooting

Since you state that the Automounter is installed, you will not see a shortcut desklet for your floppy unless you insert a disk.

Once you do, it will appear.

Or, you can un-install the Automounter.

I agree with Applelover, I got the same shortcut (shame on me I know... a floppy disc...) and it works fine when I insert a floppy.

The only thing to notice is that the desklet mount once you access the floppy disc, not when you insert it

Do you have the latest release of automount?

The floppy drive desklet will never appear until accessed because upon inserting the disk, the drive does not check to see if it (the floppy disk) is present. Where as CD/DVD drives and USB drives do.

For it to be shown after you inserted the disk, the computer would have to be setup to check the floppy drive every so often.

Yes I think I do

Do you have the latest release of automount?

I have the same problem and the only solution I found so far is to take a drive desklet from AD 1.1, put it in AD 1.2 directory and then configure it to point at a:, change icon, bla, bla, bla...:)
