mmhm ok, now I understand !sure...using virtual console, i have it postitoned with just a smidge visible on the screen. but, i want it to slide out to the center of the screen. it's about 150% or so. that's the only real-world case i have. hth.
to shmengie:try thy's SlideOut effect (X and Y offset can be specified in pixels)
LOL! actually, i'm already using thy's for the console and dreadnaut's for icondrop and ftp!! i think the animation is smoother in dreadnaut's, but i need the extra movability of thy's.
thx for the tip, though. ![]()

bumping my own thread...
- After rewriting it twice, version 0.0.5 is out. More options, less bugs !
Brilliant! This look pretty set for a proper verion number
0.0.5 looks like an understatement
can some post a screenshot so I can see what its susposed to look like please
A screenshot won't help you, but a screen animation might
In words, Its to slide out/in/away/across animation effect
great update!! you've completely changed my desktop!
i found a slide effect with following setting VIBRATING!
» Delay : 0
» HorizontalMovement : 99
» RebounceOnMouseIn : 1
» Smoothness : 100
» Speed : 9 *
» StopOnMouseOut :1
» VerticalMovement : 0
» WaitForMouseOut : 1
* reduced number (upto 8) is OK! so i used it with Speed : 8
i don't know it also occurs in other PCs ![]()
It is an amazing effect
Just retested the new version, and I have to say you've improved on perfection. Great job!

vibration should be fixed nowi found a slide effect with following setting VIBRATING!
[ coming soon: pin-if-selected option ]
Also wondering: what do you guys think of a slide-on-creation effect ? e.g. when automount makes a drive desklet appear, this slides into the screen from a side... I've tried it and it looks nice (cd icons rising from the bottom look a bit like a rising moon -sniff-) but I'm not sure if this should be a feature of the this slide effectlet or a standalone sunrise-effectlet... ![]()
Thank you dreadnaut for creating this cool effect script. I'm sure with everyone playing around with the settings we can come up with some interesting variations. I'm using the slide effect on my icon desklets and ended up with a "pressed down" effect when the cursor is over an icon.
Here's the config if anyone is interested:
» Delay : 0
» HorizontalMovement : 2
» RebounceOnMouseIn : 0
» Smoothness : 100
» Speed : 3
» StopOnMouseOut :1
» VerticalMovement : 8
» WaitForMouseOut : 1
now I see a problem with the proportional movement options... :confused:Here's the config if anyone is interested:
Hi all. I have not been able to get this effect to work. I'm using XP home, AveDesk 1.2. Slide.effectlet is placed in C:Program FilesAveDeskEffects. I get the error: C:Program FilesAveDeskEffectsSlide.effectlet (61) error 800a00a8: object required: 'Desklet'. I get this error when applied to a Docklet or a desklet. Any help would be great . TIA
did you try the unregister/register batch files (in this order) in the Avedesk folder ?
Yes I did (W/AveDesk Closed) I get the same basic error W/ the other slide effect and other "New" effects also.
These all seem to be 4,5,6 kBs in size. Older effects work, these seem to be 56,67, 77kBs in size. Thanx for trying to help. Off to work now catch ya latter.
scripted desklets (in vbs, like mine) work on a "desklet" object that should be somewhere in memory... if it's not there, or if it's not correctly registered (it should after the unreg/reg) effectlet just don't work. Compiled effects are dlls and probably look themselves for the desklet object, though I have no idea of how they work :slant:
maybe your vbs scripting engine is not working, or avedesk have some problems on your machine... I don't really know
