quicktime plugin?

I'm searching for a plugin that could make quicktime play .avi....the only thing I've tried that worked a little was when I had half the image and no sound

well, it's not possibel to get quicktime to fully work with avi's, you wont get the sound to work, and it may **** up the current plugins.. I have searched for this alot, and never got it to work fully...
