[rel] The Weather (for Sysstat 2.5)

Hey guys,

Here is ANOTHER version of 'The Weather' from Konfabulator to Avedesk/SysStats 2.5...

This one can roll up and down and stuff so that's pretty cool...:cool:

Please install the fonts first..and read the readme if your having trouble...

To install:

(just install the fonts and drag the TheWeather.aveinst into the Avedesk Control Panel)

(double-click on the City to change the City Code, and double-click on the Temperature to change the units... THAT'S IT!!!)

Used Judge's "Aero-Weather" to create this so thanks a bunch to him...

Btw, please tell me if i scrwed up on something or wanna request something...

the cursor on the top portion should be on the arrow, don't link the clowds on a single click and smooth out the animations and youy should be all good.

This is good. Easy to use as well, great work on this hyral and judge. And judge again for making systats, now I can see how good it is.

I've got it on my desktop now, even though it doesn't fit. Hope we see a mini version soon.

Hope we see a calendar that you can move through soon, like konfabs, then i'm nearly ready to dump it.

I just want to point out some things with your avedesk_installer.xml

Line 13:

<GUID>FE71C394-6BC8-4584-A4A3-AD979B4491B4</GUID>

Should be a new GUID, not the one from the aero-weather. You could use 9DF9E2FB-069A-4DD6-B467-BF23A1580CE6 instead.

You could let the fonts automatically install by putting them in a Resources directory in the TheWeather.aveinst package and add the following node under the AfterCopySucceeded section:

	<Item Type="InstallFont">

		<Directory Name="Resources">

			<File>futural.ttf</File>

							  <File>Futr1.ttf</File>

							  <File>Futr.ttf</File>

		</Directory>					

	</Item>

Great work on this.. I like the look of it.

I just have one question... the top of the current weather icon gets cut off by the top of the desklet. Is there anyway of adjusting this without having the icon overlap all the other info or moving all the rest of the desklet items down?

Here's a screenshot of what I mean.

Also, did anyone else have a problem with having to re-spcify the location of the icons? Mine said that the icons were in the icons/Konfabulator/ directory, while the icons that I had were in the icons/ directory.

Just wondering if my comp is wierd...

Here's a question. Is it possible to have it only display itsself if it can obtain weather info? I use a laptop that half the time I am remote and don't have access to internet. It would be perfect if it would auto hide itself if it can't get weather data.

I do have a problem with this config. When I use another weather config, AveDesk starts up just fine. When I have this config, it doesn't start up correctly with my PC. If I load it after the system is started it usually works fine, but won't even load sometimes. Any suggestions on what my be a problem to look for ?? Everything else works fine with Avedesk except this one.

A shame. It won't work on my second monitor. Can't drag it there, and when i manually move the x coord to a neative number to move it over to my left monitor, I can't click on it to pull it down.

Well, I was chugging along fine for a while, but now, whenever I try to load this it causes Avedesk to crash with the following error message:

Windows XP SP2

Avedesk 1.2

Systats 2.5

(If you need any more info, please let me know)

It only crashes with this widget; I have successfully used other systats configs and avedesk widgets without this crash.

I also started having the same errors after the Weather Widget was installed for more than a day. Also with the horoscape widget. I like them both, so hopefully someone can help resolve these problems.
