Font Page Skin

Hey folks,

Lately I have been working on a way to make a mail type program for my website. except instead of using it as mail, i would use it as a bulletin board for news.

In the attachment below, I have a mockup of a new type of A-S front page. One that emulates the mail.app 2.0 GUI from tiger. Let me explain a little on how it works:

A) This is there are where messages are "posted" and people will see them as a subject. The subjects can be flagged and rated like real mail, and also can be highlighted in different colors.

B) This is the content area for when you click on a subject. It will display it like when you click on a subject in a mail program.

C)This is where content like Main links (forum, wiki, resources, etc.) are located. Also where recent posts, and ad's are seen. Rollover images for Main links would help with the overall appearance.

D) I havent thought of doing much in this space, Maybe adding the A-S logo and Name somehow, but on the right-hand side, the date and time, and the search bar (ala OSX) would be located there

Other) For changing the skin back to BasicSoft and such, the little gear icon at the bottom will open a menu where you can select the skins.

So I have been workin hard on this for my site, and felt that it would be better suited for Aqua-Soft. I know that this is possible, but There is only so much I can do with CSS and HTML. So the question really is, is anyone willing to make this front-page skin possible with the approval from Timan?

Thanks,

Pops

The Mail look is too cheesy to be on the front page of A-S...

People have gotten sued for less than that :)

As nice as it looks, in my opinion (and I have a small say in these things :)), it's not professional us. Additionally, it would be kind of hard to recode the FP to support that.

Nice idea though, and thanks.

maybe the look is cheesy (yes it is a steal off of OSX in some repects) but i do still like the PHP mail type idea
