[help] Cheap Places to purchase iBook G3

Does anyone know of a good place to find older Mac Laptops? I am really interested in the iBook G3 700-900 series, but anything upgradeable to Panther would work. I am asking because I cannot upgrade my G3 PowerMac Blue & White (stuck on 9.2.2).

I have a pretty tight budget being a high school student, but I could probably $300ish and/or sell my 40GB G4 iPod. If any of you guys have a Mac laptop to unload, please tell me so I can offer as well (cash, iPod, or both).

try getting a friend or ebay to do it. don't know any other second - hand sites.

iBook G3s in the 700-900mhz range still sell for alot more than $300, though there *are* deals out there. As steelfist said, ebay is the best way to go to find the best deal. Websites like MacofAllTrades offer ibook g3s but for $599, so you might have to sell your 'pod for that. Other places that are good for buying ibook g3s is the MacNN forum, marketplace in which many sellers often sell old macs for cheap.

Best of luck to you, but with a tight budget like that....it would be better to get a macmini..........

Be careful however when you go to ebay, since there are a lot of f..... crooks over there.

A lot of people have been unlucky over there as I could judged by reading different stories!

Of course you can go there, but just be careful, it seems to be the meeting point of all the mother f.......

I gave up on ebay... I agree, too many loosers.

My problem with ebay was different though... I was selling my iBook on there and had 4 dead beat bidders in a row. They wanted me to ship BEFORE they paid... I never laughed so hard.

It's too bad you didn't post this earlier... I JUST sold my G3 iBook to someone at work on monday.

Got $500 for her. I miss her already, but I'm saving up for a PowerBook or G5 Dualie.

Can't decide which to get as both have their own unique appeal.

Well... I kinda ran into a suprise from my biology teacher. It turns out that he's getting rid of his Powerbook G4 550 MHz 15-inch; he'll probably sell it to me for $200ish.

He doesn't really care about it since he has two 17-inch 1.5 GHz Powerbooks which he got for really cheap (he was a university teacher for awhile).
