I used miranda for a vry sort time, but i remember there are not yahoo chat, and the history manager in miranda? Correct me, if i say some thing wrong
There are many many nice plugin for trillian: u've got gmail, mailcheck,... does miranda have that? :cool:
Ichat Bubble is just a skin, trillian will have that one day I hope
Miranda has all protocols you could imagine. It has like 4 plugins for history management. It can check mail, weather, RSS and if your dinner is ready. It can look like Adium or like iChat or like something very unique, its up to you. It uses very little system resources. It supports avatars, has ****load of options, you can change almost everything. In my opinion this application is a heaven for modders like us.
However the problem is not IM apps but lack of developers willing to write plugins....like iChat bubbles for Trillian or iChat contact list for Miranda.

In my opinion, Miranda can definitely look very nice. However, you need to wait for a stable release, and you need to have LOTS of patience.
Trillian is definitely easiest to install and configure.

@nightcrawler1287394: not true And Miranda is already very stable, you just have to choose proper, well-coded plugins. In most of the cases it's them behind the crashes. App itself is very stable.
And patience....yes. But creating WB themes, Samurize configs and bearing with all ****s around should already be a good lesson

Adium is a breeze. I don't know what version you were using, but try it again. It's so easy to set up and amazingly customizable (www.adiumxtras.com) give it another shot
iChat is awesome because it's integrated with Address Book... the only qualm I have with it is that it has no tabs 
I have a question. Do you need to have an Apple to use Adium?
@simz: no you don't, an iBook or a Powerbook or an eMac or a Powermac or an iMac would be enough to use adium lol j/k
Yes you do need a Mac to use Adium
You can use it with PearPC though.

every single one of my friends use msn, and i only have a msn account so the answer is obvious for me. but, if i have more, like yahoo and stuff i would use trillian. i use it sometimes.
