2 Tools To Make File Replacement A Breeze.

Heres a couple of system file replacement tools I found on my friend WinTweakers site that I think would benefit us very much. Now replacing files wont be such a pain. Download them and lets see if theyre as handy as they say they are. Thanks!

i cant get both of them to work.

replacer keeps saying that it cant file in the database.

replaceit asks if i want to kill explorer and i said no and it disappeared, even after i restarted it.

hey sone can you kindly explain to all of us (in detail ) how does this work (if youve also tried it for yourself) & how to replace files with it , the advantages & disadvantages(if any) of this little proggie.

I have been using Replacer.

I believe it has a built in list of files it can mod and backup. Files like shell32.dll, msgina.dll, ntoskrnl.exe, etc. are in Replacer's list while others are not. I have been using Replacer with flyakite's dll's --- more than half of those are not in Replacer's list.

So if you need to do a full mod, then some of the files still need to be changed manually.

The file has to be in dll format rather than individual icons, right ?

With what versions of XP does it work?:

a) original XP non-SP1

SP1

c) SP2

I have WinXP SP1 with Flyakite's dll's but Replacer also worked with ntoskrnl.exe.

I've added about 30 DLLs to Replacer. If there are any spefic files still missing, please let me know.

It would be a real help if you could get the msoeres.dll file, found in this thread included in Replacer. It doesn't seem to have it at the moment

As far as I know, they aren't covered by system file protection (so there isn't really a reason to include them).
