Question regarding Showcase

Hey everyone,

I'm guessing that this question is more for Ave, but it applies to everyone who uses AveDesk.

In the switch/integration of Showcase from AveFocus, why was the feature to "de-focus" on click removed?

i.e. In AveFocus, press F8. When Desklets are shown, any click away from a desklet will cause a return to normal window status.

In Showcase, the hotkey must be pressed again in order to return the desklets to behind the windows.

I'm just curious as to why this was done so. Were there too many bugs with that part of AveFocus? Would it be possible to re-integrate this into AveDesk without too much trouble?

I don't want to make you work any more just to get this to work. I just know on some of my projects that I've removed a function because it wasn't really necessary to the program as a whole, but that it would be easy to re-incorporate if needed.

it was decided that it would be nice to be able to interact with itmes underneath the showcase window allowing the user to drop files onto hidden desklets like ftp drop, icon drop etc...

Thats the reason.. i am not sure how easy it would be to add the requested feature.

Would it be possible to have middle-click deactivate the Showcase? I don't think the middle-click is used for drag-n-drop functions so that shouldn't be an issue.

u could set ur middle click to both activate and deactivate ShowCase

just set the button to act as F8/F9 key and ur set

That would take away the middle-button functions on Firefox though.
