Aqua-Soft Forumsthere is a problem with my windows media player. i tried videolan and it works perfectly fine for this .avi movie, but when i use windows media player, it won't work. tried 3 diffrent codec packs, tried the original codecs, and tried instaling from windows media player 9 to 10. also tried windows media player classic and it still does not work. it says it does not recognize the file, or it is currupt. i can play it on videolan. wtf is wrong with windows media player?

I'm sorry to say this but it's time for you to make the switch 
Use VLC or Bsplayer instead of WMP, they're far better than what M$ gave you... 
darnit.............it's a .avi file, installed every single codec i can find including indeo and it says it dosen't support it. dosen't even try to play it. says it's a unsupported format. trying bs now. hope they have good skins for it
update: it still dosen't work. "unknown file format wmv3" that means that i don't have windows media player 9 codec on. but I have bs player and windows media player 10 on my pc!
i even reinstalled my entire computer and it still dosen't work!
also .rm files don't work even when installed realalternative. my computer's seriously wierd right now

@steelfist: AFAIK, WMP codec and WMP itself it's not the same thing (I could be wrong though) so if it says you don't have WMP9 codec, you should go and check at WMP's website and install what it needs
