iTunes and AveDesk iTunes Desklets

hey guys,

i reallllly want to use the itunes desklet, but the thing stopping me is that everytime i close itunes now, i get this message saying "theres another application using itunes" or something along those lines and then it asks if it wants me to close iTunes anyway, meaning that shutting down iTunes is now a longer, two step process. Is there anyway i can disable that warning? This problem isnt only with Avedesk, but rather with konfabulator and other iTunes widgets, so the way to disable it i assume would be through iTunes.

multiplugin by localhost will give you that dialog. he has stated that he's working on getting rid of that in the next version.

ditto. I have itunes 4.7.1 and no plugin. I get the message as well. I checked preferences and there doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of it. :slant:

AveTunes, Konfabulator iTunes Widgets, and anything else that actively pulls information from iTunes will cause a scripting error upon closing iTunes. Multiplugin WILL NOT cause this problem.

Best solution, grin and bear it or stop using AveTunes. localhost is working on a way to disable this in iTunes.

It is an error? Mine just says "Are you sure you'd like to close itunes? One or more plugins are using the itunes scripting interface"

The dialog merely ensures that you don't unintentionally screw another program using iTunes. localhost is trying to disable this dialog because he is a really nice guy, not because he is causing it.

I get that same message. But, I'm using sketching's skAero skin, and it has a "Close iTunes" button on it. When I click that button, iTunes closes and that dialog never pops up.

1. no it`s not a bug. as gnome said, it`s a byproduct of the iTunes scripts all these apps are using and (in their current state) it is inevitable.

2. it has nothing to do with MPlugin. However, localhost is working on a way to allow other apps to bypass this warrning.

3. Ave will fix that with the release of AveTunes 2.0 (or whatever he dcides to call it). Release date is UNKNOWN and don`t beg for betas

Hello, I've been trying to add the AveTunes desklet for a while now and I can't get it to work. Could someone tell me how avedesk works and how to add desklets and stuff? I'm new to all of this and don't quite understand how to get it going. Thanks a bunch
