Styler

How do I create a delete button? Thanks!

#341932

Yes, they can install the new version w/o paying again :)

#341957

ok i have a question. i hacked styler to work on xp 64 bit (PM me if you want info on how to do it), but it won't apply any visual styles for toolbars or any themes. the other functions seem to work ok. am i just using it wrong? i select the desired theme, and braces appear around it but nothing happens. do i have to right click it or something? i don't see an apply button anywhere.. thanks!

Haaha, you hacked it to work but it doesn't work .... that makes no sense. Anyway, make sure you have the two boxes checked on the toolbar tab at the top to work with IE and Explorer and oper a folder, right click the toolbar and check styler toolbar option. Maybe this will get you started. :)

cracked

o_O

:)

#342882

cracked? no.. i'll post a screenie to prove it. well hacked in the sense that most ppl can't get it to install even on x64 but i worked around that and got SOME functionality at least. here's a screenie: :)

screen1bg.th.jpg

smoovie: you say right click on the toolbar and there's a styler option? which toolbar are you talking about, like the windows explorer toolbar? i dont have any styler options there.. do other programs work as well? firefox doesn't either..

edit: NM! if i use IE 32-bit then there's a styler option now appearing :) still nothing in firefox tho... got to play wiht that a tad bit. thanks! ps pm me if anyone wants to know how i got this to work in x64 windows.

I have a problem , I pressed my standby key accidentally when styler was loading

( **Style is being changed , Please wait for a while** ) ,

After resuming , the splash was still showing up , and it can be removed only by quitting styler :S

Now even after rebooting, the splash loads up and persists :

Any idea how to solve this?

PS: that is the second splash, not the first one which can be turned off :P

#342950

here i thought i was the only one with this problem :) i'm running it on x64 and thought it had to do with that. i solved the problem by going into the styler/images directory, and editing the graphic file that gets loaded up by making it completely transparent. that way essentially nothing is displayed. see? here's the file, just overwrite the one that's already in your directory: style1ag.png

lmk if that works.

i have an a64 and it works fine for me. are you referring to windows xp64?

No I was referring to my a64. I was told by the creator in e-mails that it would not work with my a64 :( It works with yours? Hmmm.. my install of windows is quite fresh. So you have no probs using it with "My computer", "My Documents" or "My Music"? That's very strange.. i've uninstalled/installed/reparied/etc and it always breaks down when I use any of those folders...

Any help would be appreciated!

#349144

Well i think you don't actually have any asian fonts/languages installed cos that isnt Japanese, just a bunch of random symbols...

#349160

i don't know, i wish i knew what it meant, cuz styler wont run when this happens.

#349200

try removing the skins in the styler directory and start it up again?

#349827

Are you by any chance running Windows 2003? if you are thats why, styler and windows 2003 dont mix.

#349841

tried that, and styler just keeps reinstalling them as if they're missing or something.

try removing the skins in the styler directory and start it up again?

well i'm running xp x64, which is technicaly win2003 so yes. i've hacked styler to install properly on it (modding the .msi installer) and then i run it in compatibility mode for xp, and mod the .png file that says "changing themes" to 100% transparent otherwise it wont go away at all. so it basically works but this damn popup shows every time windows boots up. i have to click ok then start styler again, which then it works. its kind of weird why it works manulaly but not through the startup folder.. maybe i'll try adding it in the registry under /run and see if that works.

got it to work by running it from the registry instead of from the start menu :):) no more annoying popups. and yes, it's on win x64 :) so Astyanax, i'm sure you could be running it on 2003 if you wanted.

I installed the new styler and seems to be working ok with one slight problem that maybe someone can help with?

I have a hard drive icon on my desktop aligned right and every time I start up styler, it disappears. It's very annoying and I can't make a new one with the same name because styler message says there is one already with that name but I can't find it..very weird..

Thanks in advance

Amber

did you mark "align to" in the Desktop tab?

its buggy somehow.. (like many other things with this prog <.<) de-select it and reboot and the problem should be gone
