Is this possible?

This is my goal: a desklet that at the same time:

1)Is a folder shortcut.

2)Displays folder size BUT(IMPORTANT!!!) re-checks the foldersize at a given time and updates it in the desktop data.

For example:

(Icon image)

My music

Size: 200 MB

Then, in case i modify my "My music" folder, lets say i erase a 30 MB folder, in a given time, it goes AUTOMATICALLY:

(Icon image)

My music

Size: 170 MB

Am i clear?

As far as i know it cant be done in AveDesk with the default desklets (i mean the re-check routine)

So the final goal is:

A desklet that checks the foldersize AND (AUTOMATICALLY) re-checks it in a given time, so i can have an updated data in the desktop?

Or Is it possible to make a script or something that "tells" the default AveDesk folder shortcut to re-check in a given period of time and give the updated data?

Thanks for reading!

Sorry if im making a stupid question. ;)

This is what i want:

A shortcut to a folder, it should show the foldersize AND re-check it in a given time (i mean update the foldersize number automatically).

This can be done with PowderChecker, am i right?

The thing is i cant make it work, when i add it, nothing shows in the desktop.

And in the control pannel of Ave it reads:

"PowderChecker:"

and nothing else.

Then if i right click it (in the control pannel, remember there is nothing in the desktop) and choose "properties" Ave closes itself immediatly.

What´s happening?

Some help?

(im using 1.2, tried 1.1 and the same thing happpens)

Thanks

Is it me, or just a pseudo.double post?

Oh~ and stop the insults...

Have you even tried this using the old "Folder" desklet (not the PIDLshortcut one)? I just did your test for you on my machine and it updates the folder size sublabel in real time as files are added or removed. Am I missing something here?

Pidlshortcut does the exact same what you are asking.

#258156

So, it seems its only me?

I add a Folder desklet (or a PidlShortcut) and when i erase something inside that folder, it doesnt show in the fodersize, i mean it keeps the same number as before. Only gets the real size if i close Ave and reopen it, but thats annoying.

Im using %s %r in the label,

im i doing something wrong? some option unchecked?

Thanks!

Here's what's in my Label Format dialog box:

%f file(s) - %d folder(s) %s

I don't have "%r" listed as an option (note - I'm using the "old" Folder desklet, not the Pidlshortcut one). I don't see any special option I have set that you might have missed. What OS are you running? Are you using Explorer as your shell?
