Help with PowderChecker

This is what i want:

A shortcut to a folder, it should show the foldersize AND re-check it in a given time (i mean update the foldersize number automatically).

This can be done with PowderChecker, am i right?

The thing is i cant make it work, when i add it, nothing shows in the desktop.

And in the control pannel of Ave it reads:

"PowderChecker:"

and nothing else.

Then if i right click it (in the control pannel, remember there is nothing in the desktop) and choose "properties" Ave closes itself immediatly.

What´s happening?

Some help?

(im using 1.2, tried 1.1 and the same thing happpens)

Thanks

You mean the Powdermount desklet? Use the pidlshortcut that comes with Avedesk 1.2. Works like Powdermount (no of folders & file count, total and free disk space etc) and better as a matter of fact.

But,as i said, does Pidlshorcut recheck that data automatically in a reasonable period of time (im only interested in folder size, actually)?

As far as I know, updates are on the fly.

Why don`t u just try it?

Is it really that harde to add a deklet and see for yourself instead of starting a new thread?

And of course, why would u bother to read the release thread and see what PIDL does, righ?

Don`t expect for us to compensate for ur lazyness :slant:

Pidlshortcut only updates if you remove/add/modify the folder or the files in the folder. This is better and less resource intensive than checking every X seconds.
