Problems Getting Response From Icons

When I click on a dock link for a folder (my documents, my pictures, etc) many times the icon bounces but it does not open the folder, I have to click a thousand times, and sometimes I just give up, why is this, it has happened to me with several previous builds, and in several computers.

Which icons does this happen with for you? It does it for me too, but only when I try to open windows explorer. I think its because its not an exe - its explorer.scf

Maybe OD doesnt like non-exe files much?

although it runs shortcuts to scripts fine.

Maybe try dragging a shortcut to what you want to run onto the dock instead of the actual program?

It happens with any non-exe file, like any folders.

I tried making a shortcut of a folder then adding that to the dock, but then I get a windows message saying windows does not know how to open that, although if you click in the actual shortcut it works... :( I wish this was fixed, it is the only BUT I have with the dock, I tried others like Moby and Y, Moby's magnification did not allow me to place it at the top as the icons dissapeared from view (maginified upwards not downwards) Y was ok, but slow and the magnification, to get it to look like Object dock, takes too much memory (my system crawled and I have 515 DDR mem, XP 2500, etc). Also I wish I knew how to add a start button link to the dock, I don't want to part with my taskbar because I uuse the start menu a lot, and well, there you go.

You need to put "explorer.exe" (no quotes) in the "Link" box and then put the path or the "::{numbers}" in the arguments box...then the item should open on the first click.

Did u put the shortcuts in the object dock folder? I just tried this for My Computer and it works ok now, although explorer works more often, just still not all the time. I don't actually have any folders on the dock as im using the popup menu.

You have the same cpu and ram as me - do u find when the icons bounce, they do it really fast at first then slow down after a couple of seconds? OD needs an option to set the bounce speed a bit slower :)

I'm guessing you are on XP as you said you have tried Y'z dock, but I'm on 2k pro which might be making a difference.

Yes I am running XP and I don't have the bounce delay, although I would love more control over that too. What do I put in the argument line if I wish to open say my pictures folder?

Anyone know how to add a start button link?, also, will anyone ever make a docklet for the SYSTEM TRAY, it is essential with Xp and messenger, I mean it will make for better integration of the interface...

What about an email (with amount of emails received) for the dock.
