Aqua-Soft Forumshey guys, i may be really dumb, but i was under the impression that avedesk 1.2 took care of other shortcuts/files/etc that were on the desktop. ie, for example, if i created a new text document or something on my desktop, it would automatically have a label, shadowing, etc, but i cant seem to find out how to do any of that. also, i cant figure out how to do it where a label doesnt have a background but once you click on it, it doesn, much like with mac os x. both of these impressions i got from looking at pics and videos of avedesk. i downloaded all the updates and stuff, but i STILL cant get any of it to work. can someone help me out?

I'm having some troubles with 1.2 that I had hoped would be fixed as well.
I'm a ****, and I looked through a lot of threads, I hope this hasn't been answered, but when I try to create a new desklet, it always forces it in the upper left hand corner of my screen and I can't move it until I assign an image to it. Whats worse, I can't use the weather desklet for SysStats....it never shows up on my desktop. I'll try to assign a visible image to it, but it's no where to be found.
Is there a way to force it to spawn in the center of my desktop...and at least visible?!?!

edit:: i think "No Label" (note the space between the two words) looks better than "NoLabel" (note the lack of a space). But, to me "No Label" placed too large of a gap between the "label" and the "sub-label", so i changed the sublabel margin from 5 to 3 in the values.ini of the "no label" background label. hope that makes since.

Open the Desklet control panel...click on settings...adjust the default desklet properties and global settings to your heart's content.

i tried editing the .ini file's values, but it still didnt do anything :s. i also couldnt find a value that had "5" in it at all :s

the value i changed was

and you have to restart AveDesk to see the change, but it's very mi·nute, i am probably just being overly picky.

Use "DesktopGrabber" located in Installable Packages. However, I think there's a bug--there should be a link for it on the very first page of AveDesk Bug Report.

To edit the labels and shadowing, modify the "Default Desklet" thing as described earlier.
thanks! i think i kind of got it working. one question though. is there no way to hide the old icons on the desktop that are non-avedesk after getting their desklets to work? there really is no point in me having two of the same thing on the desktop
