Original source of the information came from macosXrumors.com.

Showed that what was true? Just because a rumour site (which was getting their information from ThinkSecret) reports something right, does not mean that anything they report later on is going to be automatically true.

Edit: And why isn't this in Apple hardware? :slant:

do rumors qualify as being hardware? :slant:

do rumors qualify as being hardware? :slant:

*me goes to library to research this*

According to the Aqua-Soft Encyclopedia, when the rumors pertain to hardware, then yes it DOES qualify as hardware

esXXI, steelfist meant that the rumours about the Mac Mini turned out to be true, so therefore so could these.

Personally I would rather see the G5 notebooks, rather than all this faffing about with screens and HD technology... etc.

but then again... is there anything that a g5 powermac can do that a g4 powerbook cant? so i say its better to develop all the other stuff for now and not the cpu's

well, i didn't mean that apple will release it in the next powerbook release. but it will happen. soon. just depends on when and how. when the pentium 1 cpus are released, it was very very likely that a more processor will be released. so therefore, when the 15 inch with this amount of pixels was released, the only way up was more pixels and quality, which is the road that apple is trying to take. it's meaninless to go back down to 120x80 pixels for 15 inch. correct? but, there is chance that the improved monitors won't ever be released. it's just probability.

But that's the thing steelfist, just because HD displays are around, doesn't mean that Apple will use them.

This is because Apple have a "sweet-spot" at the moment of around 72DPI on all their monitors. This is to give a uniform size to windows/fonts on all Macs, and because their user-interface (at the moment) is geared towards it: it won't change.

Once 10.5 (not a typo, the one after Tiger), is out with presumably it's resolution independent UI: Then yes. Maybe, a strong maybe, they'll move to higher definition displays. Until that, they won't.
